Projects
During my time at Western Michigan University, I’ve had the opportunity to engage in a wide range of teaching-focused projects that reflect my growth as both a musician and an educator. This page highlights some of the work I’m most proud of—from research papers to teaching resources! Each project represents a meaningful step in my journey, and I invite you to explore and learn more about what I’ve been up to at WMU!
For this project, I designed a 30-minute fall concert for a fictional Class C high school orchestra, selecting repertoire that aligned with the ensemble’s imagined strengths and challenges. The project included rationale for each piece, ensemble suitability analysis, an eight-week rehearsal plan, and a detailed daily plan for a mid-cycle rehearsal.
Retention and Recruitment Project
For this project, I developed a district-specific recruiting timeline, instrument testing and placement procedure, student and family engagement strategies, equipment acquisition plans, and a promotional video designed to inspire fifth-grade students to join the orchestra program.

Policies and Procedures Project
For this project, I designed a handbook that outlines classroom operations, instrument care and assembly, student behavior, financial procedures, and ensemble culture, while also providing visual resources such as posters and flyers to reinforce expectations and foster a supportive musical community.
